Your Offline Marketing Guide For 2024

I'm such a huge advocate of scaling via online marketing, but this week I'm going old-school. That's right, we're going offline! 😳

In 2024 (almost) and beyond, you can't afford not to be digital. But a good digital strategy is so much more once it's married to a strong offline marketing strategy. Let's remember that only a few decades ago, this is how empires were built!

Unfortunately, not everyone is so diligent with their offline strategy. Most people are;

So Focused On Online, They Forget About Offline.

But that's not the only reason. Here are 4 other reasons why people struggle to make actionable progress with offline marketing.

  • You can't outsource it

  • Higher upfront cost

  • Difficult to measure

  • Difficult to scale

  • It takes time

But never fear. Offline marketing is easier than online marketing - you just have to do the work!

And here's how step by step:

Offline vs Online - Mark Thiel (X)

Step 1: Create High-Quality Print Materials!

I have read of many real estate pros who funnel an insane part of their new business leads only via print-on-demand.

Whether you go for brochures, flyers, or postcards to showcase your work and reach potential customers, make sure your print materials are well-designed and use high-quality images. You need to capture the attention of potential clients. Low-quality stuff isn't going to cut it.

Take flyers, for example. Flyers are a great way to promote specific events or offers. You could use a flyer to announce an open house, a grand opening, or a special discount.

Tips for Creating Effective Print Marketing Materials:

  • Make sure your print materials are professionally designed.

  • Target your print materials to your ideal audience.

  • Keep your message concise and easy to read.

  • Use high-quality images and graphics.

  • Use a strong call to action.

Step 2: Network With Local Businesses & Community!

This is the part where you can have some fun. It's all about relationships, and getting involved with local businesses and the community will help build those relationships.

Of course, this shouldn't be a selfish act. When getting involved with the community and sponsoring events, it should be about bettering the community. Give, and you shall receive.

Step 3: Attend Industry Events!

Trade shows, home shows, and community events are a great way to get your name out there and meet potential customers.

These events can be a valuable resource for custom home builders and remodelers. They provide an opportunity to:

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the industry

  • Network with other professionals in the industry

  • Showcase your work to potential clients

  • Learn from industry experts

After the event, follow up with any potential clients or partners that you met. This will help you keep your name in their minds and keep the momentum going.

Step 4: Create Quality Referral Partnerships!

Don't be afraid to ask - again, it's a game of relationships!

You can create a great referral network if you play this correctly. If you can create a database of suppliers in complementary businesses, and you can convince them to make the relationship, one of reciprocity - your golden!

Here's what you do:

  • Identify and assess businesses

  • Build relationships

  • Mutual agreement

  • Go the extra mile

Create a vendor referral list and showcase that on your website, in customer packets or wherever. Do the best you can for your fellow vendors. The gentleman's agreement of reciprocal referral should be obvious. Give them good referral service, and expect the same in return.

That's it for this week's edition. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Cheers 🍻

➜ TL;DR:

  • Create High-Quality Print Materials

  • Network With Local Community

  • Attend Industry Network Events

  • Quality Referral Partnerships
